Error: Cannot find matching data using Find Next due to text begins w/ ...
Error:
Cannot find matching data.
Cause:
This problem occurs because the text entered in the 'Find What' box begins with an apostrophe. The 'Find Next' command in Excel does not recognize apostrophes in the leading position. This is by design of Microsoft Excel.
Solution:
To work around this problem, type the text without the leading apostrophe and then click 'Find Next'.
1) If the message is still displayed, click 'OK' to dismiss the message.
2) With the desired worksheet open, select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Find...'. (The Find dialog box appears.)
3) Type the text to be found, without the leading apostrophe, in the 'Find What' box.
4) (Optional) Select 'By Rows' or 'By Columns' from the 'Search' drop-down list.
5) (Optional) Select the worksheet attribute to search for in the 'Look in' drop-down list box.
6) (Optional) Select the 'Match Case' check box to find characters with cases that match exactly as those typed in the 'Find What' box.
7) (Optional) Select the 'Find Entire Cells Only' check box to find exact and complete matches only.
8) Click 'Find Next'.
9) Click 'Close' when finish searching.
